WhistlePig Independence Day
Tasting masterclass

WhistlePig

Independence Day
The event

In July 2024, the premium American distillery WhistlePig, specialist in rye whisky, chartered the Rivage to stage an intimate tasting for 20 guests. An ultra-confidential format for influential tastemakers (sommeliers, bartenders, specialist journalists, collectors).

When a high-end spirits house seeks to activate its tastemakers in Paris, a boat provides a rare setting that combines intimacy, prestige and a strong sensory experience.

A tasting masterclass for 20 tastemakers

Hosting a whisky tasting evening for 20 guests requires very specific conditions: intimacy (each guest must be able to speak directly with the brand ambassador), sound quality (for the technical explanations of rye whisky and its ageing), and professional service (appropriate glassware, spring water, a curated palate cleanser selection).

The Rivage, arranged in a confidential setting, offered the perfect conditions for this sensory experience.

A high-end sensory tasting

The tasting masterclass format alternated between talks from the WhistlePig ambassador, comparative tastings of several expressions, food and whisky pairings crafted by a partner chef, and moments of exchange among the 20 tastemakers. Specialist glassware, spring water on the side, and precise plating for every tasting.

Goal achieved: to create a memorable experience that turns guests into spontaneous ambassadors for the brand.

The Bateaux Seine orchestration for a premium spirits brand

Bateaux Seine coordinated the private hire of the Rivage, the sourcing of the chef for the pairings, the specialist whisky glassware, the U-shaped seating to encourage conversation, and the welcome of the 20 VIP guests hand-picked by WhistlePig.

Why choose a boat for a spirits tasting in Paris?

A boat for a tasting masterclass ticks every box for exacting spirits houses: complete intimacy (no background noise, no other groups), a prestigious setting that elevates the product, heritage views that add a cultural dimension, and the ability to host highly qualitative formats (from 10 to 50 guests).
